Excerpts from the Friday Sermon at Masjid Al-Haram

By Sheikh Dr. Yasir bin Rashid Ad- Dawsary

“Indeed, one of the greatest things that help a servant remain steadfast and continue in acts of obedience is that Allah protects him in all situations, by His protection in life and after death.”

• A season of the greatest seasons of worship has passed. The days of Hajj and pilgrimage have ended. Congratulations to you, O guests of the Most Merciful, for answering the call, purifying yourselves in the sacred places, and glorifying the symbols of Allah and affirming His Oneness. May Allah accept your deeds, reward you with His bounty and grace.

• One of the signs of an accepted heart is the continuation of good deeds after the seasons of worship. This is a sign of success and acceptance.

• What a person should maintain after Hajj is preserving Tawheed (monotheism) and guarding it against all impurities and innovations. Do not return to sins after Allah has honored you with obedience. Do not undo your hard work and righteous deeds.

• One of the most important things to preserve after Hajj, along with Tawheed, is prayer: it is the pillar of Islam and the first thing a person will be held accountable for. It is the key to success and prosperity.

• Allah’s protection of His servant is comprehensive: protection in his religion, faith, family, children, property, health, and wealth. It includes protection in his beliefs and thoughts, and it extends to preserving his soul, wealth, and family.

• Allah’s protection is affirmed in the Hadith: “Preserve (the commandments of) Allah, and He will preserve you.” If you guard the limits set by Allah and fulfill His rights, He will be with you in all your affairs, guiding you and keeping harm away.

• Allah is with His servant when the servant guards his duties: “Be mindful of Allah, and He will be with you.” He will protect you from distress, alleviate hardship, and support you in crises and during trying times.

The sermon also praised the efforts of the leadership in this blessed country for their great success and exceptional organization for this Hajj season and every year.
